Will Insurance Cover My Chiropractic Care?

When meeting new and potential patients I’m frequently asked, “Will my insurance cover my chiropractic treatments?”  Most of the time, the answer is, “Yes.”  As companies and insurance carriers search for ways to promote preventative care and wellness programs, more and more are covering chiropractic care in their health plans. Employees increasingly request chiropractic care benefits as a part of their health insurance plan.

We are very proud to say that we are “in network” with all major insurance companies including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medica, Medicare, HealthPartners, HSM (Health Services Management), Cigna, Preferred One, UCare, etc. We also accept all worker’s compensation and auto insurance. This means that we can submit our patient’s visits to their insurance company and help them receive the maximum benefits available to them through their plan.

We can help patients figure out exactly what their insurance plan covers.  We can explain the following:

  • Cost/coverage of the initial visit (exam, x-rays, etc.)
  • Coverage of spinal manipulations/adjustments
  • Coverage of therapies, modalities, or rehab exercises
  • Deductible / Co-pay amount
  • Maximum number of visits
  • Out-of-Pocket maximum
  • Health Savings Account (HSA)/Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) reimbursements

I’m afraid many people don’t seek care chiropractic care because they are unaware of their insurance benefits or think the cost may be out of reach.  If that includes you, please give us a call.  We’d be happy to check your benefits and explain your different options.  For those with costly co-pays, high deductibles, or no insurance at all, we have affordable self-funded options for individuals, couples, and families. We even offer a discount for military service men/women and their families!

Our staff at Watkins Family Chiropractic is well-versed in the complexities of health insurance, and will help you understand if your health insurance could pay for all or part of your chiropractic care.
