Did you know that the human body is approximately 60% water? Hydration is one of the most important factors of health as water is a necessary component in every cell and system in the body! But sometimes staying hydrated can seem like a large task.

The old adage of “8 cups of water per day” is actually inaccurate. The appropriate amount of water to drink is dependent upon your weight. A more accurate reference is to aim for drinking half of your weight in ounces of water per day. This also varies upon your activity level and sun exposure. The more you sweat, the more you need to drink. Always listen to your body – if you have a thirst, quench it!

Fortunately, the task of hydration doesn’t have to be so daunting. Another way to get water is through eating hydrating foods. Approximately 20% of your daily water intake can come from the foods you eat! Next time you are feeling the need to hydrate but feel as though you cannot drink any more ounces of water, munch on some of these tasty foods with 90% water content or higher:
